A day with Yureka Yu !

Today i got my hands on newly launched budget friendly Micromax sorry Yureka Yu. So here is the quick review.

Intro.

13-jan-15 Micromax had successfully made its first flash sale of its first Cyanogen powered device YU.The company said that it has sold 10,000 thousand devices in just 3 seconds.The Yureka Yu also has dedicated web forum as One Plus One.

The packaging box was simple.It had a Yu branding logo on Upper side of the box.And Cyanogen Os logo on all sides.The box was looking so cheap ( Not to forget that it's a 9k device).

While opening the package you will be invited by the giant 5.5" Yu.The package was also containing a earphone placed under the device holder.Though the look of the earphone is not that good to mention here,It does perform well.Beside device there's a Usb cable along with 1+ Ampere power Adapter.Which failed to satisfy me :( It took around 3+ hours to full charge.

Performance  

Yu has made much hype because of the little super dragon heart.The device has 1.5 Ghz Octa-Core 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.The Snapdragon 615 processor was the first experiment of Qualcomm on 64 bit processors.So you do notice some glitches in performance ( Very rarely).

I tested the performance factor with Antutu Benchmark Tester and the result was 29K. As of the device comes with Cyanogenmod os 11 (Android 4.4) which is a 32 bit os .To get full support of 64 bit processor we have to wait till we get a lollipop build os(CM12) which may come on february.

I also tested HD games on this device,It does play very well.ThAll games were loaded very smoothly.Some games especially (Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders) In Ultra high settings produced graphical glitches.(Again It's a 9K device :) I was also able to do multitask even while playing hd games,That's great.

While talking on multitask it comes with 2gb Ram which is really good in multitasking.I opened 10 Apps simultaneously and switched between them, There were no lag at all. 

Storage

Yu has 16GB internal memory,User gets around 13Gb of space for Apps.As of now you can't install Apps on SD card in the current version of CM.

Camera

Yu has 13 Megapixel Camera , which didn't perform as a 13 mp camera. But it does capture a quite acceptable quality pics in outdoors. Not to talk much on camera as it's mainly launched to target performance criteria.

Design

Lastly talking on design, I must say it's impressive in its budget. The back cover is made up of never heard moonstone finish .It does look good.

Even after having a great hardware in it,It's really thin and lightweight device. The weight of the device is just 175 Grams which really impressed me.As i was one luckiest person i got a Leather back cover freely. The company says it's worth of 1000 Rs. I don't think so. 

Conclusion

It's really a good deal at just 9 thousand bucks. But if you're a person who own or looking for a premium phone like One Plus One  then It's not for you YU . Don't forget that One Plus One costs you double the price tag of Yu.
